On the northwest border of the country of Uddiyana
PEMA GESAR DONGPO LA
On the pistil stem of a lotus
YA TSEN CHOG GI NGO DRUB NYEY
Endowed with the marvelous supreme attainments
PEMA JUNG NAY SHEY SU DRAG
You are renowned as the Lotus Born

Surrounded by your retinue of many dakinis

Emulating you in my practice

I pray you will come to confer your blessings
GURU PADMA SIDDHI HUNG
(Repeat three or five times)
Visualize your self as Vajrayogini in front of Padma Sambhava in space; Padma
Sambhava is above you at arms length. Create an image of Padma Sambhava sitting
on a lotus. The lotus has petals of the five colors. (red, yellow, blue, green and
white) There is a five colored rainbow over his head sparkling and radiating in all
directions. The sun is on the right and the moon is on the left. Imagine his body as
composed of wisdom light and representing all the Buddhas and enlightened
teachers as well as objects of refuge and lineage masters. He is sitting out from
your body at the level of your forehead and is looking at you with compassion and
loving kindness. Joyfully feel the five colored light is radiating out from his body
in all directions.
Hold this image and cultivate the thought of enlightenment. Repeat the Seven Line
prayer at least 3 or 7 times.
Recite the mantra,
OM AH HUNG VAJRA GURU PADMA SIDDHI HUNG
at least 21 times and preferably 108 times.
While reciting the mantra visualize the seed syllable, bija, OM in bright white light
on his forehead, AH in bright red light on his throat and HUNG in bright blue light
on his heart.
When you are about to finish reciting the mantra, visualize that a bright white light
shoots out like a falling star from the OM on his forehead and enters your forehead,
receiving his blessing, removing all obscurations of your body and channels. Then a
bright red light shoots out like lightning from the AH on his throat enters your
throat, receiving his speech blessing, removing all obscurations of your speech and
wind. A bright blue light shoots out from his heart like smoke from incense and
enters your heart receiving his mind blessing and removing all obscurations of your
mind and essence element of body. Finally, visualize all three lights simultaneously
entering at your forehead, throat and heart from his forehead, throat and heart,
purifying all your habitual obscurations and filling you with the blessings of body,
speech and mind.
Now Padma Sambhava's body dissolves into rainbow light which dissolves into a
point of light entering your crown chakra and comes down to your heart and mingles
with your own awareness. Imagine your body is filled with light and remain in this
state without conception or distraction. There is no separation of yourself and Guru
Padma Sambhava. You behold the absolute state of the Guru.
